Dinner, Book Signing and Talk with Lisa See: The Island of Sea Women

Hosted by the China Society of Southern California

June 11th, 2019 at the Golden Dragon Restaurant in Chinatown, Downtown Los Angeles

Best-selling author Lisa See will talk about her latest novel “The Island of Sea Women,” which explores the lives of women in an all-female free-diving collective in South Korea’s Jeju Island. At the heart of this intricately rendered story is the friendship of two women from very different backgrounds whose fates are shaped by forces outside of their control. Here, gender roles are anything but typical and women are the primary breadwinners and heads of household in all but name. See’s expertise in probing the depths of relationships, family, friendship, and history are an invaluable resource and this event, like her other Huntington appearances, is sure to be a sellout.

Check-in is at 6:00 pm and a 7-course dinner will be served before a talk & signing.

RSVP starts late May.
